COSAN works together with community people to construct infrastructure for maintaining safe drinking water sanitation and hygiene. The main objective is to encourage and involve community in total sanitation practices. Further, It also aims to maintain healthy living environment in a community. Similarly, COSAN carries out different surveys, research in the beginning, middle and end of the project.

We implement both non formal and formal education program for marginalized children and Disabled children in our target districts. The primary objective of implementing non formal education is to raise awareness for their rights and entitlements. In addition, we help the out of school children to join regular schools and also prepare them for entrepreneurship. COSAN utilizes its education programmes as an entry point also for community empowerment work.  In the formal education sector, COSAN works to improve the quality of primary education at the primary level and to increase enrolment and retention rate of the children. We focus on disadvantaged children, particularly girls, Dalit and children with disability.

COSAN’s health sector programmes focus on preventive health intervention in the community with the objectives of reducing child and maternal mortality in rural community.

Our major intervention include: promoting access of primary health care services through capacity building of local health institution and supporting Health Authority for the implementation of immunization, nutrition and safe motherhood program; community education: awareness raising and provision of basic service facilities on health & hygiene.

COSAN aims to inculcate transparency and accountability in the local level governmental and civil society actors. It strives to increase representation and participation of excluded groups in local decision making process.

Issues related to the environment have always been present in COSAN programs as cross cutting issues. Since 2014, we have taken a step forward  in Research and Developments by adopting environmental issues as a separate thematic area. COSAN focuses on capacity building, policy advocacy and knowledge management to address environmental challenges like climate change, disaster risk reduction.
